I am Selftorn, a conjuror from King's Cross, and my current endeavor is the building of a hamlet not far from you.

Our goal is a hamlet, nothing more. A place for cottages and a few merchants. Since it is our desire to be an asset and not a detriment to the area, our policy is as follows
- we will not be building a militia
- we will not have an open tree
- so far there are - *counts* - two of us

If anything, we'd be more than happy to swear fealty to a larger guild in the area for both community and protection.

Who in your guild should I contact regarding establishing an agreement or arrangement of some sort? With COS broken up, we felt it is finally a time when we can build a benevolent town without fear of a random bane.

I shall regularly check this thread, but I can also be reached at retticksb@cs.com

Thank you,
Selftorn of Otherness

Try contact either myself (Lithrien), Rikko, Stifler, the IC, and we would be happy to work something out, or if you see Corrupted (our GL) that would be better, but he is out of town for the time being.

Before you place, I suggest stopping by our IRC channel and talking it over with us.
I can't see any reason why you couldn't join our nation, and my only reason for discussing it with us first is so that the site you plant on could be of maximum benefit to everybody in the nation. Since all nation members can bind at one another's trees, having your tree closer than the rest of us to a good spawn or rune location would cut down travel times for everybody.

If you're really eager to plant, I'd suggest planting your tree a little ways south or southwest of Tyrannus Eversor. My reasoning being that it's closer to the southern zones and a ways away from Dawn so you shouldn't have a lot of trouble with their errant PKs running around. That also gets you closer to the archer and werewolf discs.

As Lithrien said, our GM is out of town for the week so I don't think any of us have the power to sub you. If you do decide to plant before that, however, you might want to take a tracker with you to make sure there are no thieves in the area while you're going through the planting operation.

It is placed east of the Essening Wilds and south of the Plains of Tirilius. That puts archer/werewolf to the left and summoner/wyrmslayer just above.

I see you..

I remember now that the IC can sub a guild as 'initiate' or somesuch, just not as a proper sub.
Let one of us know IG and we can set you up. Also fire any city building questions at us if you have them.

Have we heard back on the status? I have 2 slots still open on the tree but I wanted to hear news of our status before building further and setting up more vendors. Lithrien had expressed a daggersmith would be beneficial to the nation. I am just holding off building until hearing further from KoT.

Hello Selftorn,

You are welcome to join our nation, certainly. As far as building goes, do you plan to build merchants who produce goods or are you hiring them for junking purposes only? If you are building junkers, I recommend a hammersmith and a helmsmith first, as these will provide you with a place to profit from a lot of the loot in the plains.

I will endeavor to contact you IG, but you should also make efforts to contact me as either Corrupted or Doula.

Since we are just a village, we realize that we haven't armed forces to contribute to a nation (although we would gladly go to war beside the soldiers we swear our fealty to), so our goal is provide goods or a resource. We currently have a leatherworker ranking up and plan to add a daggersmith, as Lithrien indicated a daggersmith would be of value.

The above would be the avenue of goods we can provide. As far as a resource, if we are in the nation, then nation members can bind to our tree for quick or easy access to farming areas and local disc drops.

I will look for you next I am around and hopefully we can meet up!

*folds up daggersmith contract and puts it in his back pocket*

What would be of benefit to the nation? A shop? A trainer?

Let us know and we'll work on it. With a weekend ahead of us, I can probably get something up to rank 3 by monday and a respectable rank by the weekend.

I think a daggersmith would definitely be useful for selling/junking purposes, as I don't think any other nation cities have one.
As it stands I have to either run to Novus Ordo to the West or try and get a summon to Khar.
