If this is true, sounds like they're going to wipe Scorn and Treachery and combine us into some new world map.

Needless to say I'm concerned and if they choose not to reimburse us for our cities, I will cancel my account.

I have already spoken to Anya and they would like to remain in the nation.
Doom Brigade are going to talk amongst their IC but appear to be willing to stay with us as well.
Teen Girl Squad are a bunch of arrogant assholes and will probably ditch us when the merge happens.
I haven't seen any Scumdoggs on since the rumour.

I think it might be kinda good... But all depends on what they do with cities. If they just wipe them, I dunno what I 'd do, if you quit I would probably too. They can track now who owns assets so I dont think it would be that hard for them to reimburse a person.

Im sure this idea is far off... talking a couple months, so I feel we got plenty of time to straighten it out.

Its official it is happening.. But did not mention which server. I figure Treachery is a good candidate though.

DAoC was interesting. The graphics were cool and I was able to have capes and horses. Unfortunately the horses were just like a really really long recall spell that you could only use from certain spots and only went to certain spots. Kinda like when you're at the bottom of Wind and your runes are bugged, but different.

Levelling was a trip. First you fought wee wolves and then you could fight the sveawolf pups, then you could fight the sveawolves, but you really couldn't fight previus wolves because you didnt get xp or gold for it. But then after that you fought the sveawolf mothers and you try to fight the small cats and hope the big cats dont see you otherwise they'll kick your ass, and running from stuff as a newb in DAoC is about as futile as setting off a bomb in Britain bank and trying to make a run for it.

My favorite level was level 18. It was the level of enlightenment for me. I remember very well that final death It just cost me the past 4 hours of xp. That was a wonderful level . It was the level that I learned that I didn't have to do this anymore. The level where I woke up and realized the truth of what I was experiencing: DAoC is a step below JOB on the fun scale. Moreso, I was getting paid to go to work and having more fun there than in DAoC which I was paying to be in.

I still have that hibbie mp3 song that I downloaded. That was a real neat song.

Anyways.. There are some jackasses on the ubi forums saying that a complete server wipe is the only fair thing to do. Fuck that.
Some are saying we should keep our chars and lose everything else. Fuck that.
Some are saying refund our deeds to our banks and let it happen.. That's ok by me.

I agree... refund deeds. Wiping wouldnt affect those hardcore play 24/7 guys. But we'd be screwed.

Heh newbs. While you guys are waiting 2 hours to find someone to gank on treach we're making exp off kills (not a single mob killed yet and already level 35) every 5 mins or so.

That map is a beta map. The new world according to Vosx will be two large continents.

As far as wipes and resets go, looking at it all mechanically and functionally, it would be BEST for the players to allow them to keep their items, but WORST for the developers in that regard.

It depends on whether the devs want to sweat out 2 weeks of pure hell 24/7 or if they want to skip the aggravation and go straight to a clean new world.

Transferring cash presents a major problem. Any UOer can tell you how well a server handles everyone logging in on the same day and placing a house all at the same time - it just doesn't happen. Their servers will not be able to handle 40 + guilds dropping trees at the same time. Remember, also, that the number is multiplied as the server gets boggged down repeating the same calculations for those fuckwads that just bang "PLACE PLACE PLACE" over nad over againif the tree didnt pop immediately.


'items on your character' also presents a problem. A guy with two accounts can easily get 600k to 1million gold to the new land by rolling expensive jewelry and items and wearing them. That means a guild of 10 people with 2 accts, or a guild of 20 people with 1 account could probably get an easy 6-10 million to the new land. That's enough cash to start a city and have a few weeks of maintenance banked.

That then leaves us with the possibiliy of being able to transfer naked characters. The two major problems with this is
1 - people will, within a few days, find the prime farming zones. People will then fight over the same zones rather than spread out and safely make a little less cash at a less populated zone. Ideally, that is what the game is abour, but realistically people will spend their times crying on the boards that there too many at each of the x good farm spots and whinewhinewhinebitchcrybitch.
2 - duplicate names

Naked characters seems the most plausible. Then again, WHY would they come up with a suggestion to have ghosts named after the leaders from the old world, and ruins named after the old guilds, if they were going to let us keep the characters???

But when you read the official version of whats happenning it mentions no server merge at all. They may just test bed this on one server. Theres too many questions, way too many. But I figure there is plenty of time before this goes in.

Just a warning though, if they wipe towns with no refunds I will most likely quit. Wipe my char, Im gone for sure.
