I know it occasionaly got somone in a panic

but it was really harmless, and a SHITLOAD OF LAUGHS when an unsuspecting newbie would think that year old posts that predated his registration on the forums, where directed at him.

put the [you] code back and add a checkbox on options to disable it for each profile so that doula or myself can intervene and just click it on the profiles of people who are fooled by it and get are thin skinned enough to freak out over it

We shouldn't have to protect people from simple things too much.

I dont like to think about how complex it would be to add that feature, Arson. The code is/was hard coded into the functions library, so I'd have to write code to force user accounts to access seperate function libraries, and then add that check to every function call that each user account makes. No, its either all or nothing with that one I'm afraid... I barely have time to check my emails and correspond with the people who give me money these days, so these forums are goin to be static for the most part from now on.

I agree and disagree.

Yes the {you} code was funny, yes it was overused and often times misused. Simple lines like I agree with {you}, were all to prevalent. Those short one liners were not funny. But take for example how I tried to use it most of the time, like for example the three threads that were banned from the forums. Threads that basically showed a lot of people's true narcissism and or stupidity. Even my latest thread about how I killed {you} while playing SWG was funny. Even funnier were people's responses about how if it was them I couldn't have killed them cause they are uber. See that was funny, and you can't tell me that those of you with a sense of humor didn't laugh before someone changed my post.

Barring all the good and bad things on the {you} code in mind. I think it is a reflection on this guild, on all of us and the direction we are taking now. We are expanding (or have expanded), senseless insults that go back in forth in public forums (guild chat/boards/irc/etc) seem to be counter productive and inferior with our goals (domination of all and death to our enemies). These insults seem to be less frequent than they were when I joined. (Heck we spent hour just calling ThunderFist ThunderWuss, or Telling Strongheart that there is no Jesus) We are bigger and stronger than we have ever been, and with that comes change and often a bit of professionalism.

The {you} code and everything it represented is gone, at least for now, but I think we are better off without it.

On the other hand if another command were to replace the {you} code and only certain people could use it, that would be cool too. :)
