Greetings all Knights of Terror!

Seeing how you like mmos and sandbox games and some hardcore games I decided to tell you few words about upcoming game 'Life is Feudal'.
It's awesome sandbox mmorpg, hardcore one, something like Ultima/Wurm/Mortal Online, it's like connection of these games, it has numerous of awesome features, you can build and terraform with no limits, and for free. There is amazing combat system based on Mount & Blade, and it has nice graphics too. So basicly it has features that will remind you of games such as Ultima Online, Mortal Online, Minecraft and Miunt & Blade, really nice. It's currently in pre-alpha, but closed alpha is starting between Feb-Mar 2014, if you are interested you can try to get access to all alphas and betas.

This game has an amazing featureset! IDK if its been posted or not but I am certainly aware of it now. Alpha/Beta tests start in apr/jun 2014, so this is totally worth keeping in mind.

GW2 or DCUO combat system with keep building corpse looting PVP stat building system. everything else is garabage. Krypts, obviously you've missed out on the next step of games, ones which let you alter the game itself as you play. The games you mention are basically static world stat competitions, where the numbers you've made for your character determine whether you're winning or losing, and the only thing to quest towards is improving your numbers. Games that let you change the world in some way (DF/Eve letting you hold territory and resources, this game/wurm letting you sculpt terrain, etc) add another level of gameplay that heretofore have been impossible. Tell me you arent interested in re-establishing the KoT keep that was so highly prized in UO. The whole idea that we as a guild have a tower in the forest near some good spawns or a guild hall someplace interesting that we all hang out at or use as a central command which we've built to our own tastes and interests is the golden chalice that we should be searching for. GW2 + housing + full loot + pvp stats doesn't exist, and really who's interested in game clones anymore these days...

We get bored of these MMO games in a month or two because there's no consequences for our actions. We could be the absolute #1 player on the server in most games and there's no reward greater than what every other character can achieve... these are lame ass games. Simply look at the list of accomplishments of any game we've played, and you can see how the popularity and staying power of a game directly correlates to the games ability to include territorial control and establishment. I know all you're looking at are the graphics and the surface of the game, but you're not looking at the bigger picture. You won't be chopping wood or mining if you're not interested in crafting, but to have a village where our crafting characters / alts all do their thing building dungeons or AFKwhatever and upgrading the KoT keep while you crawl dungeons or raid other peoples towns, that's depth to a game. Meanwhile maybe the newbies have a skeleton camp right outside of the tower so they don't get wtfpwn3d.

KoT hasn't lost their taste in games, but you do seem to have lost something. What was the last game you played, what are you playing right now?

I am just a guest here.. But I can honestly say that Doula Doom made some seriously good points there, THIS IS the game where YOU as a player shape the world, YOU can have an impact on your surroundings, you can build your village/keep whatever you want wherever you want, control some area, create a kingdom and have vassals, be respected, be feared, in Life is Feudal YOU are shaping the world that is surrounding you, and it is matter of survival, creating a defendable base and fighting your opponents in the way you want, you can fight with swords, axes, maces, bows, crossbows, you can fight on horses as cavalry etc etc.

If someone from that particular guild can somehow dislike that kind of game then I have no words for that man, this will be perfect world for you, and I know that one day I will see your banners in-game.

We'll wait until the game is finished. Hacking and exploiting killed a large player base from Darkfall 1 or the first iteration of that fucking Greek game - well, one of many reasons. See how the game is when it is finished and released unto to the public. We'll check to see how secure their servers are from hacking and how the finished product is. All these things sound great, but I want to see how it is implemented and what the restrictions are.

I'm sorry I'm not interested in spending hours on end chopping wood to build walls or pick axing a rock for the stone to build a fortress only to lose it when the numbers are not on to defend. Now if you can build a castle or fortress quickly set up camp and territory quickly and have action packed PVP then I'm in. DF didn't have action packed PVP it was long boring battles. The whole aiming with bows and arrows BORING. I do not care to spend the time trying to learn or get good at that. GW2 combat was fast and exciting. The game well not so much it became repetitive quickly. I will take a page from your book Doula I do not have the time anymore to invest in drawn out games. What I want is a game exactly like GW2 that is FFA with keep building like Shadowbane PVP point system like DAOC with corpse looting abilities like EQ1 before they changed it because of the whiners. What I do not want is DF clone or anything remotely close to that. Only reason I already purchased EQ Next is well because its EQ and I have loved that franchise of games. I will try Archeage when it eventually gets release but the longer they delay that game the more trion will botch it.

FPS games are for consoles 3rd person epic adventure games are for PCs not some qazi hybrid bullshit.

I'd like to see it such that a guild of 10 or so people would be able to stake out a plot and build a small village in a few days of hard work or a week or two of casual play, then if it gets raided have some options for protection or resource return when things get destroyed, so that they're not back to square 1 but might have to start from scratch, until certain milestones are met. No-one is making a game like you want, Krypts, it's not even being developed. You sound kind of like the fat chick that wants Mr. Right to show up and ride her off into the sunset or however that goes. We have to dig our teeth into the meager offerings of these games when they start building up to get the most benefit from them, which this game looks to have starting in about 4 months or so. EQN doesn't have a launch date yet (landmark is just a widget for the game). Archeage is a year old already, and I'm kind of worried about what's supposed to be going on with that game TBH so I'll wait and see with that one for sure.

FPS games are better on PC, IMO.

I have to agree with Goraden here. I'm an FPS player and fork out the big bucks for a good rig to play 'em on, because console controls aren't even close to cutting it at this point in time. Not to mention the terrible game lobbies, and limited server sizes. I know you're not into FPS's, but that comment is really inaccurate. Racing and sports games I prefer on consoles.

I'll be watching to see how it's generally received and everyone should be pushing to get this greenlit on Steam as that's a great way to move it towards success. A bit of looking at this game should demonstrate that at LEAST it's worth logging into Steam and clicking the 'yes I would play this game' button to show that there is interest in this type of game. These are the types of games that most of the active KoT like to play... it's practically a Darkfall clone for crying out loud, but with better features developed by the most hardcore of people, the russians.

It does look like its worth a shot but i'd only be playing if we had a decent KOT crew going in. I do like the look of the inventory system/full loot and the free building/siege system. I'd need to look at some more combat videos though. I'm not a fan of the minigames but they did it right by making it optional. The game seems like it has enough content off the bat to be successful.

I didn't quit Darkfall because hacking was rampant, I don't think anyone quit for that reason alone. I quit because the progression was complete shit, the combat was unbalanced, the world was incomplete, and the company wasn't living up to it's promises or making reasonable advancements. Those points are STILL true. You're only clicking on a link, not putting any money down for this company thats trying to make the game that should be made... the time it took you to reply was a far greater waste of your valuable time than the ten seconds it takes to click a button on a website to support the idea of a free open world sandbox PVP MMO.

As for watching someone play a game for you, well that's kind of the whole point in participating in alpha. Like I'd said in another thread, I'm paying to be in the EQ Landmark alpha because I know already that i'll be purchasing this game for a number of reasons, and so why not buy it now and start playing it now? More features and shit get added from alpha to release than ever happens after release, and so I get to enjoy constant and plentiful updates. I don't care that my shit will get wiped out, because making things is what is fun about that game... but I digress. I agree that there's no good reason to pay for a game that you're not sure if you want until you've tried it out, but I kind of have enough money that I don't really need a good reason to spend it. I bought RUST because i thought it looked cool and I support the concept, but I'll likely never play it. I bought trackmania for my kids and I sure wont be playing that (but love that they build tracks and enjoy that one). I bought a new destruction derby type game that is so early in alpha it doesn't even have a race track built its just a proof of concept, but by giving the company money to continue developing it, hopefully they'll produce a great product. for 15 dollars, my kids have probably put 20 hours into the tech demo, smashing cars and doing jumps, which is less than I spent on soup and a beer this evening or when i take them out for shit food at the food court.

Hacking was my number one reason I quit Darkfall. No reason fighting anyone if you not sure if they are hacking or not. IMO DF:UW Beta was 10x more fun then ESO Beta. After trying both I got the itch but Darkfall UW needs more sand.

I quit because the hacking was rampant. I seemed to get sticky backed more than anyone in the guild. Nothing like seeing some fuck do complete 360 revolutions around you while at break neck speeds or to teleport away because he was almost dead.

I would only be clicking on a link. I would be telling future companies that I'm satisfied with the current trend of gaming developers to release games without all the listed features, streamlined games that took out features to make the games more simple, games with lackluster security measures to help prevent hacking ( Yes, it is hard to prevent hacking entirely - but to let regular schmoes with a basic understanding of code and backdoor implementations to access your game is unacceptable). X: Rebirth was fucking disappointing. All the previous versions had bugs, but nothing compared to the release of its latest disaster. It not only took out previous features - the ability to fly any ship in the game, informative menus without having to go through a console type menu which also stripped away much used information and various other things that made the game fun. It also added mini games that killed the immersion of the game. Total War: Rome 2 was a fucking train wreck. I loved the Total War series. I played the Medieval versions the most with Rome coming in second. The family tree was taken out which gave your generals a personal touch to them, so when you lost them it felt like a loss instead of some dude with a name you'd forget in the next turn. No more sons to take up their fathers plight. The UI had features cut... fuck just go watch the Angry Joe review of it on youtube which was pretty spot on. They're releasing games with such cool features, yet they're not all in upon release or just never implemented at all. Darkfall anyone? Darkfall:UW anyone? Game is so fucking hardcore they don't need to release all said features.

So you go out and buy games because you support the conceptual designs of said games and yet have no inkling to want to play them. Well, great. I'm not bashing this at all, but I feel as it is a double edged sword - so I'll agree to disagree on that aspect.

There have been numerous games besides the ones I've mentioned previously that have been spawned because of their predecessors and often with great disappointment. I understand that there will be bugs upon release. I do not accept however broken games that should have been tested further before release. Publisher breathing down their neck? Well, is that fault to be justified by letting it fall in our laps and unable to play said game because of a game breaking bug and we are suppose to be understanding of said game breaking bug and keep handing out our money to them that said game breaking bug will be fixed in a some what timely fashion? If a worker came up to me and told me that they had put in the fiber optics, but there was an issue with the splice because they didn't do it in a clean environment and said that it would be fixed in about a week and also stated that the customer should still pay the bill - even though they have no service - I would fire his ass. Let me try to clarify a little bit better. I know getting high and shit can warp the thought process a bit.

You want me to try out the game? Sure, I'll try it out to see if I like it and to see if I want to spend my money on it. Instead, you want me to buy the game first and hope that all the promised features are implemented upon the full release of the game after it is out of beta. Or rather click a little button, considering it costs me nothing, to greenlight a game that has the 'potential' promise because of the features listed that may be implemented upon the full release of the game. Hell, they may be in there already, but could be taken out of the game entirely - which has happened in games before they went to release. Aside from the fact that games are now being funded by kickstarters, crowd funding, donations, or whatever other way they can get money out of people before they actually have a game that is playable to the public. So people are now giving companies money in hopes that the game they have invested their money into will be how the customers envision it with what the developers have listed with their planned features. I'm sure Feudal is playable in its current state and that is great! But it is in beta and that means they are still working on the game on implementing features, balancing, fixing, and so forth. Let me try it out and if I like it, I'll pay the money. Is that so much to ask?

Have I bought games in the past without ever playing them? Yes, I have. That was a time when the publishers were known and I have played games from them before and releases had minimal bugs which were patched with in a reasonable time frame. Now, not all the games I had bought in the past came from developers/publishers that had a known credibility to them. Yet, the games were out of beta and had all the things they had listed as features were in the game. Now not all the games came out to be what I had expected, but those types of games were few and far between. Those days are gone. Progress? What fucking technological advances are being inside the games themselves that is so progressive? I can wear a headset that will make the game look 3D? Well, that is an advancement in of itself, but that has a minimal impact on the relative game play itself. As a person without the 3D headset can still compete with one with it. That doesn't affect the actual game mechanics of the game itself - it just makes it more dimensional. That's cool, don't get me wrong. It could eventually affect the gameplay mechanics of future games, but none so far have made that claim.

I remember playing Supreme Commander when it was announced. I was in the beta. I didn't pay to be a part of the beta. I signed up, got picked, and played it. I liked it and so pre-purchased it. The game was decently polished during the beta, balancing had to be done and a few bugs here and there, but by todays standard it would have been a gem to find. Progress indeed.

I'm against giving someone my fucking money for something they say they'll do yet had not done it in the hopes that they will do what they say. I'm not against greenlighting games on Steam, but I would want to play them first to see if they actually deserve my vote. 10 bucks is it all it costs though! Well, if that is so cheap then buy the game for me if you want me to try it out. You don't want to do that? That's fine, then I don't see a reason to greenlight something that I have not played based upon promises.
