Hello! I am ManAgainstTime, a fellow MMO gamer and lover of PvP. I write to you today to tell you about Magicbane, the
Shadowbane Emulator. Since you guys are an old Shadowbane guild, I thought you might be interested.
It may be about a decade too late, but the version of Shadowbane with lag-free banes (one with ~300 characters around a city
grid ran smoothly), very few bugs, and an economy not plagued by duping has finally arrived. It is called Magicbane,
the Shadowbane Emulator.
Although the emulator server is nominally in a "Beta" stage, the emulator functions better than the game ever did while it
was "live." Its current main server, "Grief," has been running for a couple months now. While the server's population is
fairly good (500 or more on average at prime-time) and the competition is fierce, the community could use a few more
well-known, solid guilds.
If any of this sounds intriguing to you, please give it a chance! I promise that you will not be disappointed.
For convenience's sake, here's all you need to know:
Check out www.magicbane.com, obviously.
If you need a fully patched client, download it here:
http://dlsb.us/Shadowbane%20-%20Throne%20of%20Oblivion.rar
Then go into your config subfolder, open ArcaneIP.cfg, remove everything there, and paste in this:
SERVER= Grief.Magicbane.com
PORT= 6000
Then go to www.magicbane.com, go to the forums, register an account, respond to the activation e-mail, open up sb.exe and log in!
I really hope to see you there. More guilds = more PvP, political drama, and warfare!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you bring your guild, I will even help you secure a Tree of Life location if you look for me in-game or on the Magicbane forums (same username on there).
