Is anyone going to play Lineage II starting the day of released, currently slated for 4/28/2004? I am considering giving this game a try.

PvP in Lineage II:
The Lineage II PvP gameplay is based on a color-coded system. The name of any character who attacks another player turns purple (Aggressive), and this also applies to anyone who attacks an Aggressive player.

Players do not receive penalties for attacking and defeating Aggressive characters. However, when attacking and killing characters that are Neutral (white colored names), the player's Karma points increase and the player becomes a Chaotic character. Chaotic character names turn red, and the guards of any village will attack a Chaotic character whenever they come in contact with one. Chaotic characters cannot use shop services, and have a high chance of dropping items upon death. To reduce Karma back to 0, the player must hunt monsters that are of similar levels to his/her character. Karma does not decrease if the player hunts monsters of lower levels, regardless of number.

April has a huge slew of releases, not the least of which is Doom 3. I've heard so many ppl in beta talk about how even with an increased XP level the levelling is too slow and personally I have so little time to play a game as it is, that if I cant get xp fast enough to stay competitive I am simply not even going to bother.

I'm wondering, is this another game that you can play at work, so this is the reason you want to play it? The PvP system sounds like a severely crippled system loosely based on the old UO system. The only way it will truly work is if they allow PKs to have their own cities.

L2 looks gimped, but maybe thats what the market wants now. Darkfall Online looks decent so does Dragon Empires. L2 is a retarded level mill. Almost like getting a Jedi in SWG.

Darkfall is probably a year away. If we're talking looks and looks alone, L2 is one of the most attractive games to come along for a long long time. Oh wait, mabye I'm thinking of the Final Fantasy game.

No but close. I didn't realize there was a level treadmill, I am looking for a game that I can play with KoT again. I miss everyone but I don't have a lot of time to play. I saw 20 levels and of course related that to 20 levels in DAoC or EQ rather than equating to what apparently sounds like level 60 in EQ with epic done.

DAoC isn't an option for me any longer, too unbalanced for my taste, I have gotten spoiled by games that require a high end Graphics card, and I haven't been playing a support class toon as my main since I started SWG.



L2 is a retarded level mill. Almost like getting a Jedi in SWG.
They are going to make being a Jedi easier soon. It is going to be like an epic quest next patch. Personally I still don't care, hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.

I pretty much download/buy a copy of every MMOG that comes out. Yup, that includes gems like Blade Mistress. This way a month after I cancel when I'm trashing it and some guy says "WTF have you ever played it?" I can say YES DICK I HAVE KTHX.
