How easy is it to advance in ranks in wow

You mean the PvP ranks? Its pretty easy to get to Stone Guard within a few days, which starts getting you some of the uber PvP rewards. I'm not sure how hard it is to get the full sets or the PvP mount tho; I expect much harder.

Within KoT, its not that hard to advance in the ranks. All you have to do is stay loyal to the guild and you'll move up over time. This would probably explain why you are not in KoT.
