In just 4 weeks of sales, the PS3 has already sold more 360s than Microsoft has been able to sell in Japan over the last 52 weeks. As of December 3, PS3 hardware sales have reached 187,836 units sold in Japan, which laughs at Xbox 360's total 178,070 Japanese units. But Wii reached 350,358 units on just its first two days.

The PS2 I bought the day it went on sale started getting Disc Read Errors and died 3 days before the PS3 went on sale. I find that highly suspicious.

half the price (ish), double the sales (ish)...makes sense

The 360 has been out for a year and in 2 days the Wii more than doubled its sales volume. I dont think that half price/double sales really covers it. The PS3 really is relying on its Blu-Ray DVD player to get into peoples homes right now as its pretty much the cheapest on the market. I sort of think the PS2 was a bit of a stroke of luck for Sony and I dont think they're going to be able to repeat the success of that console.
