Anyone who liked crusader no remorse/no regret will love this game, or I'd say xcom fans as well although its real-time. Its free on steam, uses the source engine and plays with an isometric point of view (Diablo, balders gate, etc), but its really more of a class based shooter. You play as either a medic, a tech, heavy weapons, or soldier class and you basically complete objectives in a sci-fi sort of genre akin to Aliens marines or Starship Troopers.

For a free game, I was blown away at how much fun it is. I think its developed by a group within Valve. The multiplayer is similar to Left 4 Dead in that you are grouped with 3 other people and you all try to complete the objectives together (single player is called 'offline practice', so its meant to be played multi). You level up and get access to more weapons and utilities, armour etc, its everything you'd expect from a multiplayer game anymore but done in a way that's surprisingly fresh. I recommend this game.

I played this a bit, it is quite good.

Definetly meant to be multiplayer, unless you can coordinate the other 3 guys in single player quickly.

I also tried the 1st person mode. Its not bad but I think the game was much more fun in 3rd person. 1st person just wasnt as smooth and polished as a real FPS game.
